It was almost midnight, maybe around 5 minutes left on the clock . I took an auto from Santacruz station to home and usually the fare comes up to the minimum which is Rs 17. I was not paying attention as usual busy on my mobile. I reached my destination where I glanced at the meter which showed Rs 21. And like usual I handed him the exact change of 21. To my amazement, Mr. Ramdas returned Rs 4 saying that Sir please check your watch, it's not midnight yet, my meter is faulty, the fare is the 17 only. Highly impressed by his honesty I told him that it's ok, he can keep the change as 4 rupees won't make much difference. To which what he said was so inspiring that it made me share this story. He quoted, "Jo kamaya nahi, wo nahi chahiye " , means if I haven't earned it then I don't want it. I would like to salute Mr.Ramdas and people like him who uphold the policy of honesty in our lives.
